Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years after finding him guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. He broke his silence, through a letter he wrote to his fans. In it, he says that he’s totally innocent and refuses to apologize for something that he claims he didn't really do.
Although he was found guilty, Lanez says that he took responsibility for his interactions with the involved parties in court. He says that he isn't apologizing for the charges that he was convicted of and remains firm on his position.
Reflecting on the adversities he faced in life, Lanez mentions the fact that he faced adversity and vows to keep fighting despite his current situation. He thanks members of his family and friends for their unconditional support.
Lanez’s trial attracted great attention with misinformation circulating online. He addresses the court, requesting leniency and a chance so that he may prove himself in his life as father.
Megan Thee Stallion, the victim, submitted a pre-written statement for the court in which she described her struggle to be present because of the trauma she suffered. The Deputy District Attorney described Lanez’s actions as serious. He said they were those of a “misogynist and a coward”.
