Top heroes of 2005
- IndiaGlitz, [Friday,December 30 2005]
2005 was a typical year for Tamil films ----some big hits, many fresh ideas and some failures. But the filmdom was never boring. Some have managed to rise to the top. Some have taken a step back. Some are putting up a fight. Here we present the list of top heroes in 2005.
Vijay
The blue-eyed boy of Tamil film distributors is Vijay for his three movies released this year - Thirupachy , Sachin and Sivakasi have gone on to collect good revenue. Vijay is currently busy with Adhi, while a host of production houses have signed him for their forthcoming ventures.
Vikram
The big success of Anniyan has taken Vikarm to greater heights. Though Maja did not exactly create waves, it again showed why Vikram is in the top league. Vikram is one actor who keep experimenting. Anniyan showed his true class.
Surya
His Ghajini showed why he is in the top bracket. He is one actor who is constantly innovating and not content to rest on his laurels and play safe. If his Ghajini won him rave reviews from critics and also ran well, then Aaru too has opened in a big way establishing his celebrity status.
Arya
The pin-up boy among young girls today is Arya. His Ullam Ketkumae and Arindhum Ariyamalum brought him young fans. Even a poor outing in Oru Kalloriyin Kathai did not stop the flow of offers coming his way. The actor is busy with over half-a-dozen offers now.
Ajith
Seeing Ajith in this list may raise a few eyebrows. He didnÂt have anything great (in terms of releases) in 2005 to talk about. But his new, fresh look was the talk of the year. His films for AVM and P Vasu have made the industry to sit up and take notice. His Godfather is also another expected blockbuster. 2006 may well be his.
Honourable mentions: Jeeva (Ram), Vishal (Sandakozhi) and Prasanna (Kanda Naal Mudhal).
