‘Top Gun’. The name is enough to remind us of the adrenaline rush we got to excperience as Tom Cruise as the fighter pilot swooshed through the skies. Not only Tom Cruise’s character from the first edition became iconic, but also his tough competition in the form of Val Kilmer as Iceman received awesome reception.

Well, guess what? Val Kilmer has been roped in for the second edition of the film as well which has been titled as ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. Isn’t that exciting news to fans? It is also worth mentioning here that Kilmer recently opened up about his cancer battle and recovery. All the best , Kilmer!

Director Joseph Kosinski is calling the shots for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ which is being bankrolled by Simpson/Bruckheimer and Skydance Media. The much awaited film is slated to hit the screens on July 12, 2019.
