1) Vasool Raja MBBS

The doctor doesn't look like losing steam. More movies may have interregnum since its release, but Vasool Raja is still holding its own against competition. Now more than a hit, the film is a much-deserved boost for the unquestioned talents of Kamal.

2) M Kumaran s/o Mahalakshmi

For a film that has such a convoluted title, the audience has accepted it pretty easily. The film’s warm sentiments (between son and mother) have found favor with the buffs who have of late been provided a surfeit of action entertainers.

3) Chellame

This is Reema Sen’s hour of glory. After being confined to glamour roles, Reema finally got some flesh and meat in her character. And she has risen to the occasion. This glitzy entertainer is one of the surprise packets of the season.

4) Giri

After a none-too-impressive opening, the film has picked up. Reason? Vadivelu’s typical comedy and some inspired stunts from Arjun. Though the film is no great shakes at the box office, it is in the top five for want of alternatives.

5)Bose

It is just one day old. But the initial reports are encouraging. Srikanth in a commando role is said to be at his inspiring best. But these are early days yet for the film. Stay tuned for more till next week.
