Quite interestingly, none of the films released for Onam could reach up to the top slot of the Box Office charts, this week. And this leaves Jayaram's 'Veruthe Oru Bharya' as the biggest earner of the season. The top five movies of the week are:

1. 'Veruthe Oru Bharya' - Jayaram is bouncing back with a vengeance, with this clean family entertainer. The movie was the hot film of the season with 80 to 100 percent collections, in almost all centers. The movie continues in 25 releasing stations in its seventh week and is now recognized as a super hit...in fact, a big hit for Jayaram after five years.

2. 'Thirakkatha' - At number 2 is Renjith's new movie, set in the backdrop of tinsel town. The movie averaged around sixty percent collections in most centers. With good word of mouth and wide release tactics, this Prithviraj – AnoopMenon - Priyamani starrer is expected to end up as a profit maker.

3. 'Madambi' - Though Mohanlal's latest hit continues only in around four of its release centers, ‘Madambi' was the most demanded film in all shifting centers and B centers for this Onam. The movie garnered good collections from these centers for Onam. The movie will celebrate its hundred days in another three weeks.

4. 'Thavalam' - Suresh Gopi's new movie, presenting him in a fresh role of a cobbler, has a weak start than his usual action movies. Released in 38 centres, this old fashioned movie by debutant director Baiju 2D may find it hard to bring back its cost.

5. 'Thalappavu' - Prithviraj's second release of season is widely recognized as a very good movie. With scintillating visuals and good narratives, the movie has also brought in good reviews. But this good word of mouth was not converted into decent initials. The trade is expecting better collections for this film in the coming weeks.

Also in the theatres are Mohanlal's' ‘Aakashagopuram' which continues in a lone station at the capital city. Allu Arjun's ‘Krishna', Jeeva's 'Dhaam Dhoom', Vinay's' ‘Jeyam Kondaan' and ‘Subrahmaniapuram’ are also in select centers.
