ÂVasoolraja may overtake Naughty ÂNewÂ
1. Vasoolraja MBBS: Though the film is not a patch on the original, to those who have not seen the original, Vasoolraja can be an enjoyable comedy. Crazy MohanÂs dialogues are witty. Kamal Haasan, as usual, has done his best. The film is expected to do good business.
2. New: The director of New, S. J. Suryah is riding high on the unprecedented success of his film. Spurned by the elderly and women but loved by naughty youngsters, the film is this yearÂs next super-hit after Gilli. Youngsters in Tamil Nadu are whistling at the bold scenes and the double entendre.
3. Gilli: With last weekÂs new releases Shock and Sullan not living up to the expectations, Gilli once again jumped to the top. VidyasagarÂs songs, especially Appadi Podu has a lot to do with the success of the film. Appadi podu still is a hot favorite for the FM listeners.
4. Azhagiya Theeye: This low-budget, realistic film produced by award- winning actor Prakash Raj had a lukewarm opening, but those who saw the film found it different. Word-of-mouth publicity, it seems, has helped the film as more and more people are going to the theaters to watch the film. After Autograph, this is one film that has a good story and a realistic approach, and both have helped the film in attracting people.
5. Jore: While the much-publicized Sullan and Shock took a hasty retreat, this not-so-publicized film with a less known hero like Sibi Raj is doing good business at the box office. Another attraction of Jore is that it has Satyaraj, Sibi RajÂs real father playing his reel father.
