‘Dance Masti’ moves into Top 3 as Friction 2 crashes down the charts!

What to watch out for?

1

1

Kailasa

Undisputed king of the non-film album circuit as of today, Kailash Kher is having a hearty time with his songs dominating the charts all around. And to think of it when the album released, there was zilch buzz or pre-release hype!

2

2

Let The Music Play

Unlike ‘Kailasa’, ‘Let The Music Play’ made a lot of news before its release and was unleashed on the stands amidst superb publicity which is continuing till date. This alum arrived with a bang and is destined to be a ‘lambi race ka ghoda’ with all chances of staying in the charts till the year end.

6

Dance Masti

The album may have taken a few years to arrive on stands since the music was composed long back but it seems to be on a vengeance path with a position in Top-3 in a matter of a fortnight. There is ‘masti’ and ‘dhoom’ yet again as Ehsaan, Loy and Farhad spin a superb lounge album by recreating melodies from the past!

4

Lounge Safari 2

Staying as it is at #4, ‘Lounge Safari 2’ now closely follows another lounge album ‘Dance Masti’! It would be an interesting battle to observe from here on since the 2 albums are too close to each other for comfort. Which one would the audience prefer? Or would they go for both?

5

5

Collaborations

Maintaining consistent sales and position in the charts since its release, ‘Collaborations’ was first released in overseas where it created quite an impression. The story seems to be repeating itself in the Indian market too!

6

8

Asian Flava II

Taking a fall by a couple of spots, the falling sales indicate that ‘Asian Flava II’ is enjoying a place in the charts mainly due to zero competition from any new album. A couple of good albums and this Bhangra-pop mix would find it tough to survive the challenge.

7

3

FRICTION 2–The Party Continues

Just last week we were discussing about how ‘Friction 2’ was unfazed from all the competition around it and how its position at # 3 was unshakable. Well, the unthinkable happens as ‘Friction 2’ takes one of the mightiest falls ever for a non-film album in a matter of a week and falls down by 4 spots to hang on at #7. It would be quite surprising if it doesn’t stick on this position for at least a few more weeks to come!

8

7

VIBES III

Yet again VIBES III moves down the charts, though by a solitary position. Both ‘Friction 2’ and ‘VIBES III’ had a great stay at the music charts since they arrived and there would be no fingers raised if VIBES too makes a graceful exit soon.

Aap Ka Surroor

Hanging on….well just about! He may be receiving a lot of flak due to some of his recent Bollywood soundtracks [with an exception of ‘Aap Ki Khatir’] not managing to do the kind of business that his albums actually do. But that doesn’t really say much for his non-film album ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ that is still being picked up by audience inspite of being on the stands for more than 8 months now. Now the need of the situation is a new music video to pep up the proceedings further.

Best of DJ Suketu

For yet another week in succession, ‘Best of DJ Suketu’ has to be content with its bottom ranking in the charts. With SaReGaMa coming up with ‘DJ Grooves – 21 Greatest Dance Mixes’ by some of the best DJs in business [including Suketu himself], the journey is expected to be tough for ‘Best Of DJ Suketu’!
