What to watch out for?

1

1

Kailasa

Success of ‘Kailasa’ has ensured that Kailash Kher is now a brand to reckon with. Albums with even a single track by him are being promoted just on his name as he continues to enthrall the audience.

2

Let The Music Play

If it wasn’t for ‘Kailasa’, ‘Let The Music Play’ would have been enjoying a # 1 status for long. After all there have hardly been any albums that pack as many as 26 chartbusters at a nominal price. A perfect dance mix album, ‘Let The Music Play’ is a must addition for your collection of car CDs.

FRICTION 2–The Party Continues

The trend of ‘Friction 2’ has been pretty much the same as that of LTMP. Sitting at # 3, it fails to budge from its position on any sides!

4

5

Lounge Safari 2

Moving one step up and now truly threatening the applecart of Top 3 albums, ‘Lounge Safari 2’ is the only album in recent times that has looked like making a serious impact in the charts. The publicity still needs to be kicked off in a big way and if word of mouth is making it reach so high in the charts then sky should be the limit when the promotion begins.

4

Collaborations

Moving a step down but still doing quite well for itself, ‘Collaborations’ is a live example of an album surviving just on the basis of word of mouth. First music video featuring Sukshinder Singh and Jazzy B is out and should further pep up the proceedings.

Dance Masti

An expected entrant into the charts, fourth in the series of ‘Dance Masti’ brand makes a debut at # 6 position. Ehsaan, Loy and Farhad churn out superb rearrangements of yesteryear tracks to make them stand apart from the horde of remixes that keep staring at you from the screen all the time.

6

VIBES III

Though the album has moved down the charts this week, it is of the kind that has enough sustenance power even towards the bottom of the charts due to its everlasting impact. It won’t be surprising if ‘VIBES III’ stays in the charts for at least 4-6 weeks before bowing out of the charts.

7

Asian Flava II

Just like ‘Friction 2’ and ‘LTMP’ that have always stayed close to each other, it has been a similar scenario for VIBES III and ‘Asian Flava’ too that have always been neck to neck. ‘Bhangra pop’ rocks! Once again!

Aap Ka Surroor

Will there be a new music video soon? ‘Vaada Tainu’ has been on for more than a fortnight now and going by the trend, one can expect a new one from Reshammiya. Nevertheless, the overexposure factor has truly caught up with the composer/singer with his latest albums not finding the kind of success like its predecessors. Even ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ has now dropped by a place and it seems more or less sure that it won’t manage to enjoy a golden jubilee run in the Top-10 charts!

Best of DJ Suketu

Just managing to hang on in the charts irrespective on albums coming in, going out or changing their positions, ‘Best Of DJ Suketu’ doesn’t budge at all from its # 10 position. Though it should at least have been towards the middle of the charts by now, it has at least given DJs a good CD to lay their hands on!

When Circuit Forgot Himself

On the very first day of the Lage Raho shoot, while they were shooting a scene at the dhobi ghat, Arshad forgot who Circuit was when Rajkumar Hirani said action. This was the same dhobi ghat where Munnabhai MBBS was shot. Though Sanjay spoke his lines exceedingly well, Arshad was just not acting and sounding like Circuit at all. After a couple of takes when Raju asked Arshad if he had any problems

Vidya Balan: Going Places

Vidya Balan, the traditionally elegant Lolita of Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Parineeta’ is switching lanes with Raju Hirani’s ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’.
