It is high time all newcomers - director and producer check precisely what they are aiming to give it to public. In the days of stiff competition and several languages have to be fought to gain box office results for Kannada films the precise planning, accurate thinking, entertainment values and something unique have to be given a thought.

For the age old stories how come the producers come to invest? This is the feeling we get after coming out watching 'Toofan' Kannada cinema. The first time director Smile Seenu claims that it is an unimagined story. When we have womb transplantation from a director like Priya Hassan and heart transplantation is very common today. The only difference cinematically director brings in this film is the hero's heart is transplanted to heroine. Is the blood group same, is the brain dead person heart could be so easily removed - the medical issues thrown in the wind. When all tom dick and Harry come to make cinema this type of mistakes happen.

In the previous week release 'Dashamukha' the 'Jury' system was reintroduced on silver screen by director Ravi Srivatsa. Senselessness is increasing in the makers!

Look at the heroine Raaji (Nakshatra) who instead of convincing her parents on her choice convinces her lover Soorya (Yashas) by making a wrong statement. I would tell the boy I get marry on the first night and come out from the clutches to lead a life with you - Raaji addressed to Soorya. Inevitably Soorya accepts. By doing so how many hearts would get affected the director has not given a serious thought. After marriage running away from the Indian system of culture and tradition is not so easy. Films are thought in whims and fancies of director such mistakes occur. The people give the fine verdict of rejecting such films.

What happens later in 'Toofan' is destiny set back to the lovers. Soorya goes brain dead and Raaji needs a heart in the same hospital where Soorya is brought.

The doctor asks the friend of Soorya to sign the papers so that he can remove Soorya heart and fix it to Raaji. In the climax Raaji will know that she has the heart of her lover.

Yashas in the lead is very neat and tidy. He needs better roles. Good at dancing and acting. Nakshatra is not heroine material. Chandan has to improve considerably.

Supporting actors Vidya Murthy, Ramesh Bhat and Chitra Shenoy are OK. Elwyn Joshua in music has given one melodious tune. The background score is not adequate. Cinematography by Ravi Suvarna deserved to be better.

Score 4.5/10
