Tom Holland, the talk of the town these days, has been capturing everyone's attention with his work, his relationship with Zendaya, and his charismatic personality. Recently, the 27-year-old actor opened up about his journey to sobriety, which he described as the best decision he has ever made.
During a conversation on the podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty, Holland shared the challenges he faced in overcoming his alcohol dependency. He revealed that giving up drinking wasn't something he decided overnight. Like many Brits, he had a boozy December and realized he needed to make a change.
Holland decided to take a break from alcohol for the month of January, but it turned out to be tougher than he expected. All he could think about was having a drink, and the intense cravings scared him. He began to question if he had a real alcohol problem, so he extended his commitment to sobriety for two months, and later for six months.
As time went on, Holland experienced remarkable transformations. He felt happier, slept better, and had greater mental clarity. Even problems on set no longer bothered him as much. He wondered why he hadn't quit sooner and questioned his prior obsession with drinking.
Holland also revealed that his sobriety journey inspired his mother to follow suit, and she's been loving the change. He couldn't believe the positive difference he felt from not drinking and expressed his happiness and gratitude for making that decision.
Alongside his personal journey, Holland has been keeping busy with his recent role in the Apple TV thriller miniseries, The Crowded Room.
