Tom Hanks tells Twitter CEO, villain role based on him

Tom Hanks is starring in a rare negative role in the new film The Circle' directed by James Ponsoldt in which he plays a CEO of a huge company who is obsessed with surveillance technology. The film has Emma Watson in the lead role.
Hanks, Watson, Ponsoldt and Patton Oswalt had a panel discussion at the Twitter office in San Francisco hosted by the CEO of the social media giant Jack Dorsey. Tom Hanks jokingly said to Jack Dorsey that ""I played you! I played you,". On a serious note Dorsey said that Twitter had to highlight the positive use of social media.
