Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel to Tom Cruise's 1986 blockbuster action drama named 'Top Gun', in which he played the role of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, an Aviator Lieutenant in the United States Navy. Captain Pete returns as a flight instructor to a training group that comprises the best set of cadets out there and the son of Maverick's late best friend is one among them.

The 2.5-minute long trailer features all the necessary things to be called a high-flying visual spectacle. While Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer reprise their roles from the first film, Top Gun: Maverick stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman and Ed Harris. Joseph Kosinski is directing the movie with a story by Peter Craig and Justin Marks. The film hits the theatres on May 27, 2022.
