In the last few days, excise department has been cracking down on LSD drug peddlers in Hyderabad and Tollywood's disgruntled elements, among others, have come under the scanner.

While it's not uncommon for a random faceless Tollywood artiste/technician to get arrested for acting as a conduit between drug peddlers and behind-the-screens actors consuming drugs, this time, Posani Krishna Murali's candid statement about the reality has become news.

Posani has it that drug abuse is very much prevalent in the Telugu film industry. He puts the figure at 2-3 per cent, though. These cases, he feels, shouldn't be used to tar the entire industry with the same brush.

It has always been an open secret that Tollywood sees drug abuse even among some known names.
