The situation around the world is not ideal for people to come together in groups but for religious offerings and prayers, government is unable to restrict people as that will lead to dissatisfaction in people, which can lead to movements.

The same won't be the case when it comes to sporting events or watching films at theatres. People would be happy to watch them on OTT platforms or on Satellite Video on Demand services or on Broadcasting channels.

Many have resorted to doing so. With 7 films from Hindi and Tamil, that too, with recognisable stars in the cast, going for OTT releases, theatre owners are now asking producers to not act in haste.

Tollywood producers who also have exhibition and distribution business are not eager to go for OTT releases as it means they themselves killing their other business wings. So, they would like to wait and watch, observe the trend and then, they will take a decision, it seems.

Talks about allowing some small films to release on OTT platforms are also going on but no one wants to be the first as the repercussions of their actions, could be worrisome in future.
