Tollywood Producer Siva Rama Krishna Arrested in Shocking Land Grab Case

The Tollywood film industry has been sent reeling after prominent producer Burugupally Siva Rama Krishna was arrested by Osmania University Police on October 22nd for his alleged involvement in a major land encroachment case.

Siva Rama Krishna, a prominent figure in the industry during the late 1990s and early 2000s, stands accused of using forged documents to claim ownership of 80 acres of land in Hyderabad. He allegedly obtained original documents from the archaeology department with the assistance of senior assistant Koththi Chandrasekhar. Builder Margoni Lingam is also implicated in the case, having allegedly helped Siva Rama Krishna claim the land as his own.

The case, which dates back to 2003, saw the Andhra Pradesh Government initiate legal proceedings against Siva Rama Krishna to challenge his claim. After navigating through the High Court and Supreme Court, the Supreme Court ultimately ruled against the producer, finding him guilty of producing fake documents.

Siva Rama Krishna's arrest has sent shockwaves through the Tollywood industry, with many expressing surprise and disbelief at the allegations against the well-known producer. This case raises serious concerns about the vulnerability of land records and the potential for fraudulent claims in Hyderabad.

The Investigation:

The Osmania University Police investigation revealed that Siva Rama Krishna, along with K Chandrasekhar and M Lingammaiah, obtained duplicate documents pertaining to a property at Raidurgam. These documents were then attested at the Telangana State Archives and Research Institute, despite the department not possessing the original land records. The forged documents were then used to file cases in court, aiming to illegally claim the government land.

Chandrasekhar, the record assistant involved in the scheme, was initially arrested. His interrogation led to the identification and arrest of Siva Rama Krishna and the other accomplices.

Implications:

The implications of this case are far-reaching. Not only does it highlight the vulnerability of land records in the region, but it also raises questions about the ethics and integrity within the Tollywood industry.

The investigation continues, and the outcome of the case could have significant implications for land ownership in Hyderabad and the Tollywood industry as a whole.
