Tokyo Olympics: India’s Neeraj Chopra finishes as best performer and qualifies for Men’s Javelin Throw Finals!

Indian players are projecting amazing skillsets and talent at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. The athlete Neeraj Chopra is the latest hope of the latest country's dream for a gold medal. On Wednesday, he qualified for the final of the javelin throw event at the Olympic Games.

Neeraj Chopra is a track and field athlete and a JCO in the Indian Army who competes in the javelin throw. He hurled the javelin at 88.07m to break his own national record. Chopra's previous best was the 88.06m gold-medal winning throw at the 2018 Asian Games and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

This is the first Olympics for the athlete who showcased his exemplary skills today and qualified to the finals of Men's Javelin Throw at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra kept India's hopes of an elusive Olympic gold medal alive by earning direct qualification into the finals with a stunning throw of 86.65m that put him on the top of the Group A contest on Wednesday.

This 23-year-old athlete emerged as the best performer in the qualifier that was held on August 4. Chopra took just a few seconds to make it to the final round to be held on Saturday.

Chopra's performance will go down as one of the best performances by an Indian in the Olympics, as he finished ahead of gold-medal favourite and 2017 world champion Johannes Vetter of Germany. Meanwhile, another 23-year-old player from India, Boxer Lovlina has won the bronze medal for her nation in her first Olympic games.
