It is known that Balakrishna has a film lined up with Samanyudu fame Ravikumar Chavali as director. The latest news is that the film is titled as Srimannarayana.

One wonders if the makers deliberately chose a 'pious' title. If one thinks deeper, one sees that Balakrishna is preferring the titles that don’t suggest a bloody story these days. Srimannarayana, starting with a ‘sri,’ reminds one of Sri Rama Rajyam.

Adhinayakudu, his forthcoming film, is yet another title with a mass and class ring to it. CM (acronym for Common Man, and not Chief Minister), his film with Krishna Vamsi, is yet another interesting title.

Even a child will tell you that this shift has got to do with Balakrishna's political arangetram. The actor has announced that he will join the electoral battle in the General Elections to the State Assembly, scheduled in 2014. Consciously refraining from playing Samarasimha Reddy kinda roles, the actor is seen donning responsible roles these days.

His fans are seemingly at peace with their demi-god's attempt to rehash his image. Not only have the days of exaggerated heroism, baptised in blood and gore (as symbolized by the films like Narasimha Naidu, Indra, Simhadri) gone, but also the people are looking for fresh themes and novelty. Though SRR was a far cry from the kind of films that Balayya is familiar to doing, it was not a hit as was expected.

The subject-matter of Adhinayakudu and CM will be particularly interesting to watch out for. In the former, Balayya is said to be very impressed with the role of the people's leader (He is playing three roles, one of whom is the 'messiah'). The latter marks a complete turnaround for a very obvious reason. The star is referred to as a 'common man', not an extraordinary man, which is definitely a changeover. Watch this space for more, as Balayya continues with his Agenda Image Makeover.
