Karthik Raja the son of Rajkumar hailing from Tirupur district Kuttakam Puliyambatti was studying his first year in a polytechnic was in love with a girl from Gobichettypalayam.  The girl's parents opposed the union as they wanted her to concentrate on her studies and also the boy was a year younger to her.

The couple eloped to Courtallam in Tirunelveli district and stayed at the Muruga Vilas lodge.  On the night of the incident at 9pm, police were called in by the lodge management citing that the boy had hung himself to death.  The girl had stated that he was drunk and so she fought with him and he had taken the extreme step when she was asleep.

Karthik's father Rajkumar and his family who rushed to Nellai refused to accept the body as they suspected foul play.  Police started an inquiry with the girl and the hotel staff Jamal and Karuppuswamy.  Shocking revelations have been made that the girl was in fact in love with another boy too and was trying to choose between the two.  She was angry that Karthik hid his real caste and thinking that he was asleep she had called the other guy and had revealed about separating from him.   Karthik had fought with her but the girl strangled him with her dupatta and then called the hotel staff for help.  The two men Jamal and Karuppuswamy had used the opportunity to sexually misbehave with her and then help her cover up the murder as suicide.

The girl had also blackmailed the men that if they tell the police about the truth she would reveal their sexual escapade with her.  Police sources say that arrests will be made after the completion of the investigation.
