Though our nation records an increasing number of communal and religious riots, India is still described as a secular country. Meanwhile, some citizens of our country are acting secular and these incidents are very reassuring.

On September 20, a Muslim family donated Rs 1.02 crore to the Tirupati temple. Abdul Ghani and Nubina Banu couple presented the cheque to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) today. It is being reported that the two are ardent devotees of Lord Venkateswara. This incident has caught the attention of the netizens and is going viral.

The couple from Chennai met TTD Executive Officer Dharma Reddy at Ranganayakula Mandapam on the temple premises. Abdul and Nubina donated Rs 15 lakhs to Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust, which provides free food to the devotees. The remaining 87 lakh rupees of their donation went to new furniture and articles in the kitchen at Sri Padmavati Guest House.
