A man from Tirupati tried to play a “suicide prank” on his friend in a video call, which accidentally led to his death as he was unable to act in the last moments due to his inebriated state.

Siva Kumar was a bachelor who worked at a local automobile store in Tirupati's Damineedu colony. He reportedly made a video call to his friend the night of his death in a drunken state where he attempted a suicide prank by pretending to hang himself off the ceiling fan. Despite his friend warning to stop him, Siva Kumar, who was in an inebriated state, refused to listen. The prank turned out to be fatal for the man as he hung off the fan accidentally with his legs pulling down, and his efforts to loosen the noose around his neck went in vain. The friend who witnessed the same on the video-call dialed 100 and informed the police, only to find the man dead.

A case has been registered on the same, while his body has been shifted to a government hospital in Tirupati for post-mortem.
