The Tirupati by-polls today have witnessed the turning up of bogus voters at polling booths. The video of a BJP polling agent asking several men about their identity and which ward they come from is going viral. The men are seen giving a blank expression. One of them is seen fleeing the polling booth sensing trouble.
It's alleged that the bogus voters have been brought to Tirupati by a particular political party.
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu released a video statement in which he accused the ruling YCP of resorting to rigging. He said that bogus voting is taking place widely in Tirupati. Saying that several TDP cadres have been physically prevented from casting their vote, Naidu pointed that the Jana Sena, the BJP and Communist parties, too, have made a similar allegation.
The former CM also said that the police are acting as mute spectators to the whole development.
