The maker of best thrillers of Malluwood Shaji Kailaas is again teaming up with his favorite hero Suresh Gopi after Chinthamani Kola Case, for the new film titled Time. Suresh Gopi who always excels in police roles is back into another playing two police officers in this - one that of Superintendent of Police Viswanathan Menon, and the other, that of his son IPS Officer Dr Appan Menon.
Appan Menon who lost his mother in his early child hood was brought up by his father, an S P in the British India, Viswanathamenon, who taught him the importance of relations, love, politeness, punctuality, responsibility and the value of time.
And when he became the I P S officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, he nevertheless sticked very much to what his father taught him. Vaiga is the girl Appan loved from childhood and eventually he marries her. Appan considers his personal life and professional life with equal importance, without the least compromise on both fronts.
Appan Menon is also a holder of a doctorate in criminology. But being an efficient officer he always have clashes with the worst elements and aspects of bureaucracy. When a new government comes to power, he is shuttled off as the MD of the Civil Supplies Corporation. But he is an officer who don't find it as a teaser, and enjoys being on board. Under certain special circumstances however, the Chief Minister himself puts him in charge of a special investigation to unravel the mystery behind the murder of Minister Krishnan Nambiar.
Suresh Gopi dons the characters of Appan Menon and his father S.P.Viswanathamenon. The film has two heroines- .Newcomer Vimala Raman plays the role of Vaiga. While Padmapriya is Susan Thomas, who is social activist and writer who is a Booker price winner. Popular compere Parvathy plays Mary Thomas, the mother of Susan who has fought for the rights for women to equality of Property. The film has thus a number of characters taken out from the real life celebrities. The film is to be released in the second half of May 2007.
The others in the cast include Siddhique, Manoj K Jayan, Lal, Vijayakumar, Sreekumar and Bineesh Kodiyery. Cinematographed by Raja Rathnam, the film is scripted by Rajesh Jayaman. The film is expected to grace the theatres this week.
