This year, Indian cinema made a significant mark at the North America box office with two movies securing spots in the top 10 rankings. The Telugu film "Tillu Square" claimed the 8th position, while the Hindi film "Crew" landed at number 9. Directed by Mallik Ram, "Tillu Square" is the sequel to "DJ Tillu" and opened to an impressive $1.9 million over its opening weekend. The film stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Anupama Parameswaran, and Neha Shetty in leading roles.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda reprised his role from the first film, "DJ Tillu," released in 2022. "Tillu Square" hit 450 theatres across North America and grossed $1.9 million, surpassing the collections of other notable films in the region. In its opening weekend alone, the film collected Rs. 43 crore globally and is poised to join the coveted Rs. 50 crore club. With continued success both domestically and internationally, "Tillu Square" is expected to surpass the Rs. 100 crore mark soon.
The film received an overwhelming response overseas, grossing over $400K through premieres and exceeding $550K on its first day. It swiftly crossed the $1.5 million mark, setting a record as the fastest medium-range movie to achieve this milestone in North America. Siddhu Jonnalagadda's performance also earned him the distinction of being the fastest medium-range hero to reach this milestone.
