TikTok star promotes acid attack on women, to be booked

Faizal Siddiqui is a TikTok star with a vast following. He enjoys 1.3 million followers, which is huge by any standard. The social media influencer, rather brazenly, has promoted violence against women in his latest video. This has landed him in trouble.

Taking to TikTok, Siddiqui posted a video in which he is seen angrily shouting at a woman for ditching him for another man. He pours something on the woman and the latter suffers burns (depicted through make-up). It's meant to give an impression that acid was thrown on her.

Needless to say, the video brazens it out by normalizing acid attack as a 'revenge' for a woman leaving a man.

BJP leader Tajinder Bagga was the first politician to complain to a relevant authority against Siddiqui. "Rekha Sharma ji, please watch this video," Bagga tweeted. Rekha Sharma heads the National Commission for Women. She promptly promised action against Siddiqui.

The TikTok star is likely to be booked and tried for instigating violence.
