TikTok Problematic Again, Employees Transferred After Shooting Videos at Work
- IndiaGlitz, [Thursday,July 18 2019]
Employees of the Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) in Telangana have been transferred after the TikTok videos they shot at work went viral. They took videos singing, dancing and playing pranks with film songs and dialogues in the background, during office hours. The videos went viral on the app. 11 employees were involved in the activity and all of them were transferred and their wages were reduced.
The issue reached the Khammam Collector R V Karnan after local channels aired the videos. Some of the employees were in clerical positions and others in fieldwork. The videos have been taken about two months ago but only came to notice when they were revealed in the media. A stern warning has been issued to employees.
This is not the first time that TikTok has been used at work. Earlier, nurses in Odisha who shot the videos in the special neonatal care unit were told to go on leave.
