While on a tiger safari in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur, a group of tourists travelling in an open-top vehicle was chased by a tigress. The spine-tingling video has been going viral on social media.
In the video, the tigress is seen coming dangerously close to the vehicle as the tourists gasp in horror while one of them simultaneously records the incident. The animal then sprints alongside the jeep, before the driver reverses and the tigress also changes direction, causing panic. "The tigress was possibly angry because it hadn't made a kill for some time due to a leg injury. In October, this tigress had suffered a thorn injury and disappeared for a while. It returned to Zone 1 just a few days ago. To maintain a safe distance from her, the driver might have revved up and driven faster than he should, angering Sultana (the tigress) further," a report from a news agency mentioned.
It has been indicated that any vehicle should ideally maintain a distance of 50 metres from wild animals. Fortunately, the tourists managed to make their escape before the feline could catch up with them and nobody has been injured in the incident.
