Tigmanshu Dhulia: Nothing Anti-Congress in 'Raagdesh'

Director Tigmanshu Dhulia says there's no scope of controversy with his film "Raagdesh", which is based on the 1945 Red Fort trials, and it is not anti-Congress at all.
On Thursday, the "Raagdesh" team launched the film's trailer here.
Dhulia was asked if it's an anti-Congress film as since the party is not currently in power, films like "31st October" on the 1984 Sikh riots, and "Indu Sarkar" on the Emergency period are releasing in a line.
Dhulia said: "I will not comment on other films. But I am sorry that in this film ('Raagdesh'), you will not get any controversy because when Britishers gave life sentence to three Indian National Army (INA) soldiers, each of them was a Hindu, Sikh and Muslim."
"That time, Congress Party, Muslim League, Hindu Maha Sabha and Akali Dal came together like never before in the history of India to protest against their life sentence. So, there is nothing like anti-Congress in this film. It's a very positive film. This film is about INA, court trials and Subhas Chandra Bose because many people don't know what exactly Bose actually did for this country."
"Through this film, we are trying to show whether INA (members) were traitors or heroes of our country."
This is the first time that Rajya Sabha TV is producing a commercial film.
Asked about the channel backing "Raagdesh", Dhulia said: "We have shot this film at the Red Fort, we shot this film at Rashtrapati Bhavan... It was all possible because we had Rajya Sabha's backing."
Dhulia wants Prime Minister Narendra Modi to watch the film, and he hopes to organise a special screening.
The film, featuring Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit marwah in lead roles, is releasing on July 28.
