Vijay's 'Mersal' creates political storm in Sri Lanka

The anti GST dialogues in Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ created a nation wide debate in additon to raising concern over the ethics of medical professionals. Many leading namews from the film and the political fraternity including Rahul Gandhi and P.Chidambaram registered their support for ‘Mersal’.

Now the Vijay starrer has went on to create a political storm in the neighboring nation of Sri Lanka as well.  Sri Lanka’s minister Ranjan Ramanayake has opined that ‘Mersal’ should be watched by all politicians as well by the all the medical students in the country.

Ranjan stated that if at all one wanted the state run hospitals to develop, then everyone including the President, Prime Minister, Health Minister and all the members of the parliament should only avail medical services from government hospitals.
