Actor Vishal, soon after assuming office as the General Secretary of the Tamil Film Producers Council had promised to donate one rupee from each ticket for the welfare of farmers in the state. Though the idea was considered praiseworthy, it did not actualise into reality as it was not received well among theatre owners in the state.

However, the Puratchi Thalapathy has once again proved himself by being true to his words. Vishal's 'Thupparivaalan' directed by Mysskin which released today in theatres will take one rupee from each ticket sold and donate it to farmers keeping their welfare in mind.

Vishal's goodwill act amidst opposition to bring this scheme into action for the cause of farmers has not only earned him appreciation from the industry but also from his fans and the general public.
