Bollywood star Vidyut Jammwal essayed the baddie role against Thalapthy Vijay in the industry hit Thuppakki. He also starred opposite to Thala Ajith in Billa 2. The actor is best known for his action film franchise "Commando".

Today, Vidyut announced his debuting as a producer through Twitter. His Action Hero Film outfit is teaming with Reliance Entertainment and T-Series for the debut project "IB 71", an espionage thriller.

Sankalp Reddy, who debuted with National film award-winning "The Ghazi Attack" that was set during the 1971 India - Pakistan war, will direct this espionage thriller. IB 71 will also be based on India's 1971 war history.

Set before the Indo-Pakistani war, Jammwal will play an intelligence officer in a story about how Indian intelligence agencies outwitted the Pakistani establishment and gave the Indian armed forces the required advantage they needed to face a two-front war.

Aditya Shastri wrote the story and the screenplay comes from Storyhouse Films. "IB 71" is co-produced by Abbas Sayyed and will commence production at the end of 2021. We can expect this project to be made in Tamil and Telugu languages too and expected to have a pan-Indian release as the film is about India’s war history. Also, the director’s previous work The Ghazi Attack, also based on the 1971 war was also a multilingual release.
