'Thunivu vs Varisu' has been trending high on all social media platforms ever since it was announced that the Ajith and Vijay starrers respectively will be released together on Pongal 2023. It was later reported that both the films will release on January 12th.

'Thunivu' is already censored U/A with a running time of 2 hours and 25 minutes and now it is reported that the film will release on Wednesday, January 11th. If that is the case then there will not be a first day clash with 'Varisu'. The official word is expected any time now.

Meanwhile 'Varisu' also has been censored with a clean U certificate and a running time of 2 hours and 50 minutes. The film will as planned hit the screens worldwide on Thursday, January 12th and the official announcement on this one is expected with the trailer release on January 4th.

'Thunivu' is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor with Ghibran serving as the music composer and Nirav Shah handling the cinematography. The film stars Ajith, Manju Warrier and Samuthirakani in the lead roles.

'Varisu' is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju with Thaman scoring the music. The film stars Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead pair with an all star ensemble cast in supporting roles.
