Three Telugu sisters arrested for helping Maoists

Aathmakuru Anusha (24), Aathmakuru Annapoorna (33) and Aathmakuru Bhavani (38), three sisters, have been arrested by Visakhapatnam police for working as overground supporters in a Maoist front organisation. The arrests recently took place at Hyderabad's Moula Ali Housing Board Colony.

The accused are daughters of Aathmakuru Ramanaiah and Lakshmi Narasamma. The couple has been active members of Telangana Praja Front.

The police have divulged that the arrested have been working for Chaitanya Mahila Sangham.

Anusha is highly educated and was recruited by Akkiraju Haragopal alias RK, a famous Maoist leader from the Andhra-Maoist region. Anusha was his computer operator and got trained in military tactics in the forest near Gunnamamidi.

The other two siblings have been accused of rendering logistic support to the Maoists. For example, they have supplied medicines, etc.
