It's not often that three films that preach high-end values come out in a span of 9 days. It has happened this year. On Feb 9, it was 'S3'. On Feb 10, it was 'Om Namo Venkatesaya'. On Feb 17, it's going to be 'Ghazi'.

Suriya-starrer 'S3', directed by Hari, tells the story of a ferocious cop who takes on a medical dumping mafia based in Sydney. Either obviously or subtly, patriotism, courage, dutifulness and fortitude are the values that are glorified through Suriya's character at almost every dramatic step in the movie. Such films, as the makers would have it, contribute in their own way in promoting the right attitudes among youngsters. For example, the first two editions of the 'Singam' series have been shown to police trainees in various police training academies in India to instill in the trainees a sense of patriotism.

'ONV' marks the coming together of the Raghavendra Rao-Nagarjuna-Bharavi-Keeravani combo. A devotional based on the life story of Hathi Ram Baba, a 15th or 16th Century saint-ritualist, 'ONV' educates the devout about the importance of following holy town-specific rituals, besides telling the history of Tirumala through the life story of Ram Baba.

'Ghazi', coming next Friday, tells the story of an alert, adventurous, spirited and patriotic team of Naval soldiers defending India against a naval submarine attack conspired by Pakistan. Based on true incidents that unfolded near the shores of Vizag way back in 1971, this Telugu-Hindi bilingual, directed by debutante Sankalp, promises to instill patriotism in youngsters. You will listen to Jana Gana Mana (the full anthem) being played toward the climax. Like 'Dangal', this one is sure to have the audience stand up in reverence while the National Anthem is being played.
