Three men landed themselves in a jail in Delhi after they were arrested for allegedly stalking a woman on Monday. However, in a surprising turn of events, the ‘stalkers’ claimed that they were actually private detectives hired by the woman’s husband who had suspected that she was having an affair, which was confirmed by the latter.
The accused Hemant Aggarwal (28) reportedly runs a private detective agency in East Delhi’s Shahdara, along with his associates Babar Ali (19) and Amit (22). The woman informed the police that she had left her home in Punjabi Bagh on Monday morning for shopping. When she found the three men in the Connaught Place area that afternoon, she realized that they had been stalking her. With help from her family members and the nearby shopkeepers, she nabbed the men and handed them over to the police.
“A police team reached there and brought the suspects to the Tughlak Road police station. During questioning, they identified themselves as private detectives and claimed that they were hired by the woman’s husband to spy on her. The husband was called in and he admitted that he had hired them four days ago, as he suspected that his wife was cheating on him,” one of the officers said.
