As two solo ventures of Jai, 'Vamanan' and 'Adhey Neram Adhey Idam' failed to do any magic at the box-office, the actor is now banking on 'Aval Peyar Thamizharasi', a soft-romantic tale.

Starring Nandhagi opposite Jai, the film directed by Meera Kadhiravan and produced by Moser Baer is complete and ready for release.

Says the director, "The movie is not a run-of-the-mill-stuff. It has the backing of a strong story. It has come out well and plans are on to release the movie this February".

Meera Kadhiravan is a litterateur who has several short stories and poems to his name. "Literature and cinema are two different media. I had to understand the difference before venturing into films. As a writer, I enjoyed great liberties. As a filmmaker I have to bring my vision to ideas."

On the film's title, he says, "It may sound like a women-oriented subject but it has been told from the hero's point of view. Jai has worked hard for the role. He comes in three getups- as a college student, a married man and a middle-aged man, recalling his love life."
