Three arrests made in connection with Vijayawada fire accident

The Vijayawada fire accident on Sunday has been a burning topic in Andhra Pradesh. With casualties high due to the accident at the Covid-19 care centre run by a private hospital, there has been a clamour for accountability.
On Monday, three people were arrested in connection with the tragedy. The Chief Operating Officer, the General Manager of the private hospital (named Ramesh Hospital) and the night shift manager have been arrested by the police.
Reports say that they will be produced in the court.
The Sunday accident would have been more disastrous had a nearby fire station not responded swiftly.
