After winning the national award for the best cinematography in Sringaram, acclaimed cinematographer Madhu Ambat is confident of repeating the act in his next Thoovanam.
The movie, starring newcomers Adithya and Naethra, is a love story with a difference.
It is directed by Haricharan and Newton. Madhu Ambat says, "When the director duo Haricharan-Newton approached me to work in the film, I was initially reluctant. However after listening to the storyline, I decided not to let go the opportunity".
Sriman and Bhanuchander are making special appearances. The music has been composed by ace Malayalam music director Isaac Thomas.
Thoovanam, the soft drizzle that follows a heavy down pour, is the title of the film through which Haricharan and Newton begin their career as directors.
"It is a love story. But the difference is in the way how the emotion shared between the hero and the heroine affects a wide circle of people", according to Haricharan.
"We have deviated from commercial cliches and were actually apprehensive when the film went for censor. But we have been rewarded with a positive feedback", he adds.
Produced by Sri Vaishnavi Productions along with Sree Veeramathi Productions, Thoovanam has Adithya and Naethra in the lead with Mauryaa, Tusharaa, Lakshmi, Ponnumani and Suraj doing key roles.
"Two of the hero's friends in the film were made to work at Burma Bazaar for almost three months to get the spoken and body language right for the film. In fact, all the characters went through intensive rehearsals to prepare and perfect them for their respective roles", he added.
