Today is the 33rd birthday of the real multi-faceted actor Dhanush.
At a very young age Dhanush has scaled huge levels with sheer talent, hard work and commitment. His growth since his debut 14 years ago has been a highly inspiring success story.
Born as the son of director Kasthuri Raja and younger brother of director Selvaraghavan, Dhanush made his acting debut, playing the lead role in 'Thulluvadho Ilamai' that released in 2002. This film was a super hit but it was his second film 'Kadhal Kondein' which launched Selvarghavan as a director is the film that made people notice him as a highly talented actor.
Since then the journey of Dhanush as an actor have been going on strong and steady. His career has always been a mixture of commercial flicks and critically acclaimed award worthy films; Hits and flops have been common. But the actor in Dhanush has flourished in all of these films.
At the age of 28, Dhanush won the National award for Best Actor for his performance in the film 'Aadukalam' directed by Vetrimaran. In the same year the international hit 'Kolaveri' song penned and crooned by him took him to Bollywood. and he has now acted in two Hindi films 'Raanjhna' and 'Shamitabh' both directed by highly acclaimed directors Anand.L.Rai and Balki respectively.
Dhanush is one of the few South Indian actors who have been able to have a strong hold in Bollywood. He is now on the verge of signing for the Bollywood remake of yesteryear Tamil super hit 'Agni Natchathiram'.
As an actor Dhanush has the highly commendable trait of getting into the skin of the character and delivering the best for it. His boy next door image has made him close to the hearts of youngsters as well as family audience.
Dhanush is also a prominent singer and lyric writer who is not just capable of churning out mass hit numbers like 'Kolaveri' (3), 'What a karuvad' (Velai Illa Pattadhari) and 'Don u Don u' (Maari) but also soul stirring meaningful songs like 'Pirai thedum nilavile' and 'Amma Amma' (Velai Illa Pattadhari).
A few years ago he launched his production banner 'Wunderbar Films and has been churning out commercial super hits and award winning films. Associating with director-producer Vetrimaran, he has produced films like 'Kaaka Muttai' and 'Vetrimaran' both the films that achieved international and national glory for Tamil films industry in the form of multiple awards.These two films an be considered as precious gems on the crown of Tamil cinema.
Dhanush always keeps him busy as an actor, producer, singer and lyricist. He has completed acting in 'Thodari' set to release in August, 'Kodi' in which he has played dual roles for the first time and this film is expected to release later this year. He is presently shooting for director Gautham Menon's 'Enai Nokki Paayum Thotaa' and Vetrimaran's ambitious project 'Vada Chennai'.
Reports suggest that he will turn a script writer along with his sister-in-law Soundarya Rajinikanth for a film and he has also expressed his desire to become a director and sooner or later he will achieve that also.
