Like every week, this week also a few films and web series are gearing up for a theatrical release. Along with theatrical releases, a good number of web series-, OTT shows, and films that already had theatrical releases are scheduled for digital premieres during this weekend. Now, we bring you the list of films and OTT shows ready to entertain the audience this week. Below is the list.
Kaala: Disney Plus Hotstar
Created and directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Kaala is a crime drama thriller series with an ensemble cast. The story revolves around kaala dhan or black money case that is being investigated by an honest Intelligence Bureau (IB) Officer, played by Avinash Tiwary. He tries his best to get to the bottom of this reverse hawala scandal, but its roots are so deep and well connected to the crime world and corrupt political arena that solving the case becomes daunting for him. Will the IB officer give up or put the criminals behind bars?

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani( Amazon Prime Video)
After becoming a roaring success at the box office, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is available on OTT for rent for now. This Karan Johar directorial romantic comedy-drama movie revolves around the love story of an intellectual Bengali journalist Rani Chatterjee (essayed by Alia Bhatt) and a flamboyant Punjabi lad Rocky Randhawa (portrayed by Ranveer Singh). Despite their differences, they both fall in love and face opposition from both families, as expected. For this problem, they come up with an unexpected plan - the switch - living with the other person’s family for three months prior to their marriage to understand them and their culture! But, will their plan work?

Barbie(Amazon Prime Video)
After setting new box office records across the globe, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is now available for streaming on rent for now. Based on Mattel’s eponymous fashion doll, this live-action movie stars Margot Robbie in the titular role and Ryan Gosling as her love interest Ken. Barbie leaves her glitzy world of Barbie Land and enters the human world in search of her true calling. Ken also follows her into the human world, and together they both try to understand life, which is full of ups and downs. Experience the real world with Barbie and her friends in this pink-tinted fantasy comedy movie.

Wilderness(Amazon Prime Video)
There is nothing like a 'perfect marriage' as it does not exist, and Liv (played by Jenna Coleman) learns this bitter truth the hard way. In the upcoming thrilling drama series Wilderness, Liv believed that she had the perfect marriage with Will (played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen) until they took their dream trip to the wilderness. During this trip, Liv discovers the dark secret of her seemingly loving and caring husband. Heartbroken after finding out about her husband's secret affair, Liv seeks revenge and is willing to go to any length to do so. How far will she go?

A Million Miles Away is an inspiring movie based on the life of the NASA flight engineer Jose Hernandez (played by Michael Peña). Jose dreamt of becoming an astronaut ever since he was a child. Love at First Sight(Amazon Prime Video)
Love at First Sight is a romantic comedy movie starring Haley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy as the lead pair - Hadley and Oliver, respectively. This movie is based on Jennifer E. Smith's popular 2011 novel The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. As suggested by the film’s title, Hadley and Oliver fall in love at first sight on their flight from New York to London. However, a twist of fate separates the two as Hadley's mobile breaks before she can save Oliver's number. With no means to communicate or meet, will they ever see each other?

Miseducation(Netflix)
Miseducation is a South African comedy drama series starring Buntu Petse as the lead protagonist Mbali Hadebe. Mbali is a young, aspiring social media influencer and one of the most famous girls on campus. But her life comes crashing down after the police raid her house because of the corrupt dealings of her politician mother Brenda Hadebe (played by Baby Cele). Embarrassed and disheartened after becoming a trending meme and getting cancelled, she flees to Grahamstown University in Makhanda to regain her social status and reinvent herself. Although the plan sounds easy, its execution isn’t. Will Mbali succeed in her mission?

Elemental(Disney Plus Hotstar)
Enjoy the rollercoaster ride in the amazing fictional Element City in the animated adventure comedy movie Elemental. Helmed by Peter Sohn, the story revolves around the four basic elements - water, fire, air, and earth – who cohabit happily by following a simple rule that ‘elements don't mix'. However, things take an interesting turn when an easy-going, fun-loving Wade (water element) accidentally lands in Firetown. Wade meets the quick-witted and fiery Ember, who has never stepped out of Firetown. Wade tries to convince her to step out of her town and explore the other parts of the Element City. Will she agree?

Wifelike(Netflix)
The science fiction thriller drama movie Wifelike has been written and directed by James Bird. As the name suggests, the movie revolves around 'wife-like' artificial humans who resemble dead wives of grieving widowers. One such AI creation is Elena Kampouris' character Meredith, who has been created for Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ character William Bradwell. Although it seems like a harmless project by the organisation, this idea is opposed by an activist group because of AI exploitation. This group tries to sabotage Meredith’s programming which creates havoc in William’s life.
