Ever heard of a tweet with 5 lakh likes? A tweet with one million likes? Here we bring you a tweet with 2 million likes. Yes, 2 million. Not sure if this is the most-liked tweet in the history of Twitter, but its sheer reach is magnificent.
It was tweeted by Mark D. McCoy, a professor from a University in the US. The tweet touches upon the burning issue of racism, against which unprecedented protests have been going on in the US. The professor, in the tweet, confesses to committing an offence similar to that of George Floyd, who was killed by a White cop recently, sparking protests and riots in parts of America.
"George Floyd and I were both arrested for allegedly spending a counterfeit $20 bill. For George Floyd, a man my age, with two kids, it was a death sentence. For me, it is a story I sometimes tell at parties. That, my friends, is White privilege," the tweet reads.
At the time of writing this piece, the viral tweet has got more than 6,10,000 retweets and 5,900 comments.
