Imagine the 1-hr journey between Vijayawada and Amaravati getting compressed to a mere 5-mnt one. That's what India's first 'hyperloop' project is going to make possible. It will connect the two cities, reducing the journey time to an unbelievable low.

The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) has entered into a negotiation with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT), an American research firm, in this regard.

To be built in PPP mode, this one-of-its-kind project will be funded majorly by private individuals/companies, as per a MoU signed.

The project is in its nascent stages.

Starting from October, a feasibility study will be conducted by HTT. This is expected to be completed by March 2018. Identifying the best routes and taking into consideration the interests/concerns of all concerned stakeholders is the main aim of the feasibility study.
