Kunal Khemu nand Gajraj Rao starrer 'Lootcase' wasn't a spectacularly successful film by the box office terms but it certainly was a sleeper hit. Intriguing and tight narrative teamed up with solid performances by the cast made it a really good watch. It was the directorial debut of Rajesh Krishnan, who is known for his widely popular web series, 'TVF Tripling'. In recent Filmfare Awards, 'Lootcase' was nominated in several categories and it also garnered the Best Debut Director award to Rajesh.
Apparently, the director has plans for a seqeul but he won't do it unless there is an solid idea behind it. He said, "I don’t think I am that smart or intelligent to just sit one afternoon and write a sequel just because the audience came to watch part 1. If I make a sequel now but with not a great story, it might get a big opening but then it will fizzle out. To add to that, we will be called those idiots who messed around with a great idea. So, if we make a sequel, we need to have a great story that is out of our comfort zone.”
When asked about any possible ideas for the sequel, Rajesh said, "There have been many but most of them are like those that you come out with while drunk at night and then when you are hungover the next day, you realise it wasn’t a good one.” He feels its better that he points it out rather than movie-lovers experiencing it. Well, let’s hope things work out for the team and we get Lootcase 2.0!"
