Remakes and sequels constitute a big part of Bollywood projects these days. More often then not, the retelling of classic stories falls flat and doesn't carry the same impact. 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha' was a phenomenal success at time of its release and its narrative and characters have been immortalized in the Indian Cinema. This iconic story being set for a sequel.

Director Anil Sharma is planning the story for 'Gadar 2' and it is supposed to retain the original cast including Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. Although Anil is working hard on the project, his first priority at the moment is 'Apne 2'. There hasn't been an official announcement about 'Gadar 2' but it is expected that Anil will soon reveal the plan formally.

Utkarsh Sharma who played the role of Sunny and Ameesha's kid in the film made his debut with Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Genius' and he'll be seen as a grown up guy in 'Gadar 2'.
