Other than Om Raut's 'Adipurush', there is another project based on Ramayan under production these. However, this Nitesh Tiwari production is still in the initial phase and while 'Adipurush' has already gone on floors, this one still isn't through with casting. There were reports reports about Hrithik Roshan being attached to the project. Fans speculated that he might play the role of Lord Ram but it was soon revealed that he was being considered for the role of Raavan.

For the role of the protagonist, Mahesh Babu's name was rumored but there hasn't been an official announcement about the same. The makers want an all star cast for the film since it is a big budget and large scale project. With the inclusion of Mahesh Babu, they wish to give the film a pan Indian appeal.

There hasn't been much buzz about the female lead of the film but recently, it was reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone are being considered for the role. Kareena was supposed to play a part in Karan Johar's period drama 'Takht' but the project has been shelved so she might be available for this Ramanyan based project. Deepika is also a strong contender for the part as she has played several period drama characters in the past.

If this cast is finalized, the project will be a blockbuster just by the star power alone.
