Actor Simbu was supposed to start acting in the movie Maanaadu directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions in February this year, but the shooting got delayed and there were many confusions in the project including Simbu's removal.

However, after several discussions and meetings involving the producers council members and Suresh Kamatch, it was decided that the shooting of Maanadu will begin in January and that Simbu will join the shoot. Recently, it was rumoured that Kannada actor Sudeep has been approached to play the villain in Maanaadu.

The actor quoted a tweet sharing this news, and revealed that it is a wrong news. Maanadu is a political entertainer that will also star Kalyani Priyadarshan who recently made her debut in Tamil with Siva Karthikeyan's Hero and director Bharathiraja in a key role.
