Thiruvilayadal Arambam

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • Telugu Comments

It was Thiruvilayadal which propelled Sivaji Ganesan to major heights in his career a few decades ago. Now hoping to repeat the same is Dhanush with his next movie with the same title.

Dhanush, who is desperate for a hit after a slew of failures, teams up with director Boopathy Pandian for Thiruvilayadal Arambam.

Shreya, who is romancing Rajinikanth for Sivaji, plays Dhanush's lady love in the movie.

The actor and the director had earlier teamed up for Devadhaiyai Kandein and the movie had a good run at the box office.

Now the two are confident that Thiruvilayadal would work wonders as well.

R K Productions, which came out with films including Thulluvadho Ilamai and Kadhal Kondein, is producing the movie. Dhanush's sister Dr Vimala Geetha is producing the film under this banner.

The movie is set as a cat and mouse game between Dhanush and Prakashraj. Playing the male protagonist, Dhanush has a mission to accomplish. How he achieves it forms the crux.

Says Boopathy Pandian, "Thiruvilayadal Arambam is a perfect commercial entertainer. We have action, romance, comedy and sentiments at the right mix. Prakashraj plays a meaty role and the encounters between Dhanush and Prakashraj have come out well."

The highlight of the movie is the remix of Yennama Kannu, a song from Rajinikanth starrer Mr Bharath. D Imman has come up with the remix. Also a couple of songs were shot abroad, says Boopathy Pandian.

After a heavy role in Pudhupettai, Dhanush is into a bubbly and charming youth's role in this film.

On protests from fans of Sivaji Ganesan on opting for Thiruvilayadal as the title, Boopathy Pandian says, "It is a clean entertainer and we would in no way bring any disgrace to the title."

Plans are on to release this film for Pongal.

Dhanush is upbeat at the movie's prospects. He says, "The story is smart enough to attract youngsters and womenfolk alike. Boopathy Pandian's pacy screenplay is a major boost for the movie."
