A few months back Govind Bhagavan, a school master from Pallipattu Thiruvallur made headlines when his students staged a protest when he was transferred to another school.  The government then revoked the transfer order.  Meanwhile Makkal Neethi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan wanted to meet Bhagavan and congratulate him on his popularity with children and had even arranged a press meet at the party office in Alwarpet.

Newsmen gathered at the MNM office but after a few hours of waiting the spokesperson said that the meet is cancelled as Bhagavan did not arrive.  Later when questioned Govind Bhagavan has clarified that since he is a government servant and Kamal is a political party leader it is not proper to meet him and hence he declined the invitation.
