Singer Chinmayi started it all one fine morning as she accused legendary lyricist Vairamuthu of sexual misconduct and shared other women's similar allegations on social media. Vairamuthu has since stated that he is innocent and has been targetted and is ready to face a case in court. Leena Manimegalai a television personality turned poet and film director has levelled rape attempt allegations against director Susi Ganesan of 'Thiruttu Payale' and 'Kandaswamy' fame.

In her FB post Manimegalai has stated that she had interviewed director Susu Ganesan in 2005 for a television channel and after it around 9.30 pm when she was looking out for an auto rickshaw was offered a lift by the celebrity. According to the alleged victim the director used the central lock of the car, snatched her cell phone and switched it off and tried to molest her. Manimegalai has also revealed that she had a pen knife in her purse with the help of which she threatened Susi and forced him to drop her at her house and return her cell phone. She has apparently arranged a press meet in the evening to further explain the incident.
