Thirupachi

Madurey, though some did say that it did well, was not the kind of hit that Vijay would have hoped for. It was certainly not in the league of Ghilli. So Vijay is sharpening his knives for more attack. So what place to do it than Thirupachi, the town in South India that is generic for its sharp sickles and rapiers.

The good thing with Vijay is that you know what to expect. He is always loathe to experiment. At the risk of being labeled overcautious, he sticks to a formula. And he has been phenomenally successful. And generally, success brooks no argument. So Thiruptachi will also be a wholesome entertainer. In this, he plays a rustic youth (son of a farmer) who takes up aruval to punish law-breakers in his village. An action film all Through with plenty of comedy garnished all over.

R B Choudhary, with whom Vijay had earlier worked in films including Poovae Unnakaga and Shahjahan, produces the movie. Vijay also returns to Trisha who is the hot and happening girl of South. After their mega success of Ghilli, the expectations are a notch higher. Mallika, who played an important role in Cheran's Autograph, is also in the cast. She, interestingly, plays a Vijay's sister in the movie. R B Choudhary, who had introduced directors like K S Ravi Kumar, Vikraman, Lingusamy, Raja Kumaran, Ravi Maria, Brindha Sarathy among others is introducing a new director Perarasu in Tirupachi.

He is the 27th director to be introduced by him. Interestingly, neither Vivek nor Vadivelu is around for comedy. Benjamin, who played Cheran's school friend in Autograph, is playing a humorous role in the film.

Music director Dhina has composed the music. A couple of songs has been penned by director Perarasu himself. Asked about the film, the director said, 'the movie is an action-packed film with humour and romance in the right mix'.

The movie is slated for Pongal release.
