Vishal’s decision to contest the R.K.Nagar constituency created a frenzy in the media and the political circle. However, Vishal’s nomination was rejected first citing two of the ten proposers signatures were forged.

After heated talks and upon submission of an audio proof that the said two persons were threatened by AIADMK’s Madhusudhanan aides, Vishal’s nomination was accepted. But again, the nomination was rejected citing doubt in the submitted proof’s veracity.

Many leaders from political parties have condemned this incident showing their support for Vishal. Thirumavalavan of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi has also opined his support for the actor in this regards. “Involvement of the ruling party in Vishal’s nomination rejection is evident. They have taken this action as they thought that Vishal would garner major votes in the polls,” Thirumavalavan said.
